Alexander Wang packaged up some delightful new surprises with his resort presentation yesterday, revealing that in addition to a smartly tailored "essentials" line, he's got plans to open a store in NYC later this year.
Fashion's prodigal son is keeping busy, never losing sight of his signature singular carefree-and-current sensibility.
The line of "essentials" (which seems to be a working title for the line) debuted within resort yesterday with a leather jacket and trouser, offering just a taste of the cerebral, biz-casual collection peppered with typical Alexander Wang edge. The forthcoming collection of "essentials" will be comprised of more tailored basics - namely, three pants, two jackets and one flat-front shirt.
Plus, joy! There's a store in the works, and it'll mark the designer's first-ever brick-and-mortar outpost. Wang remained coy with WWD on the exact location, but told the paper a lease is being signed for 2010.
