Alejandro Ingelmo to Open First Store in Soho

Shoe designer Alejandro Ingelmo will open his first store on Wooster Street at the end of August. The fourth-generation Cuban-born shoemaker's edgy and super-sexy designs are a favorite amongs the high-fashion, towering-heights crowd, including Madonna who wore a pair of Ingelmo heels for her H&M campaign.

The 800-square-foot shop will inhabit the first floor of a brownstone, with Ingelmo's office and showroom moving in upstairs. The store will debut with the designer's daringly sexy women's collection (priced between $400-$1,400), with the men's collection joining in down the line, including the designer's popular men's metallic sneakers—which will eventually  be joined by new women's sneakers as a store exclusive.

Ingelmo described the tiny space as a "shoebox" reminsicent of an old-school cobbler's nook to WWD. Something tells us the decidedly sleek and modern goods might indicate otherwise.
