Willow Smith Wears a Knock-Off to The AMAs

Putting a fifth grader in a harness has its apparent consequences—beyond the questioning of one's taste. Whippersnapper pop-star and celebrity spawn Willow Smith attended the AMAs last weekend in a shoulder-piece contraption that has since been called out for being a pretty blatant copy of a Mother of London design.

The designer Mildred von Hildegard released a statement of dismay over the knock-off:

"I’m disappointed and saddened that this will negatively impact my business. My original design is now recognized in the mass media as someone else’s work, and it’s very hurtful on both a personal and professional levels. I hope this can be resolved, and I wish nothing but the best to Willow."

Smith's usual stylist, Mariel Haenn, who was being blamed for the faux pas, Tweeted that she didn't style Willow for the event. Still, even if Smith says that she dressed herself—which would perhaps make the offending ensemble a tad less confusing—the question of who designed the imitation harness still remains.
