Madonna to Become Face of Dolce & Gabbana

From bunny ears for Louis Vuitton to black lace for Dolce & Gabbana: Last Friday, Madonna posed for photographer Steven Klein at a studio in Brooklyn to create the Spring 2010 Dolce & Gabbana campaign, as the brand confirmed through its in-house magazine, "Swide."

According to the designers: "It seemed only fitting that Madonna, who embodies both the strong sensuality of the brand and who shares an Italian heritage with the designers should be the one to showcase the Sicilian inspired collection."

Funny, it's been a while since we though of Madonna as Italian, but then this all explains her vacation to Portofino over the summer to visit the home of designers Dolce Domenico and Stefano Gabbana, where she wore see-through black lace ensembles in the heat of August. Maybe she's thinking it's time she went back to her roots.
