Not since we beheld the candy house in Hansel & Gretel have we witnessed the astonishing heights to which candy can soar. The 12th Annual Chocolate Show (how we've missed this for 12 years is just beyond) hits NYC Halloween weekend, and besides yummy food, there will be chocolate fashion on display. We kid you not.
All hail Cocoa Chanel (we had to go there)! It's Jacques COU-Torres and more (OK, we'll stop now)! With design sketches ranging from a delectably Wicked Witch of the West (complete with a white chocolate Oz), a life-size, dark (chocolate and demeanor) pumpkin and, appropriately, Marie Antoinette, the chocolate-constructed costumes being displayed at the three-day event at the Metropolitan Pavilion October 30-November 1 look, and in fact, are, good enough to eat.
In addition to the (Milk) duds (seriously, that's the last one), chefs will be conducting cooking demos alongside a Barnes & Noble "chocolate bookstore" for book-signings, a Chocolate Beauty Pavilion and kid's area. Except for the risk of ending up dashing home from our Halloween party buck naked, we can't think of a more genius costume than one made entirely from chocolate - it's just too good.
