Dior Homme to Make Jeans for Women

It may seem counterintuitive for Dior's men's label to make ladies denim, but when you think about it, it's absolutely brilliant: Instead of menswear-inspired womenswear, it's straight-up menswear built for women. Get it?

Creative director Kris Van Assche credited the universal appeal of the label's slim fit and clean lines in the decision to launch the Dior Homme "Petite Taille" collection, telling WWD: "Dior Homme has always appealed to women."

The new ultra-skinny line will be slightly different from the regular Dior Homme jeans that so many ladies have snatched out of the menswear section -- it will have a touch of spandex for an easier fit (which those of us with more curves can certainly appreciate).

Alas, while you won't have to wait long for the new Petite Taille denim collection -- it will be available early next year in Dior Homme stores worldwide -- the jeans themselves will start at about $400, which might prove too rich for some ladies' blood.
