Charlotte Ronson: Spring 2010

The celebri-melee that preceded the Charlotte Ronson Spring 2010 runway show could not mess with the ethereal calm of the collection.

'Twas the moments before Ronson, when all through the tents, all the creatures were stirring with rumors of Lilo and Sam, while other A-listers amped up the frenzy even more from the front row.  As soon as the lights went down, and back up, however, another sensation descended upon the crowd, caused by sheer chiffon leggings, soft pleats on soft shades of gray, blue and bleached-out black, and a general look that was equal parts prim and androgynous.  Top-knots on heads gave the girls a ballet academy aura, offset by prominent shoulders (in blazers), cinched waists and lots of leg (the last being on par with lace as a common fashion week fixture by this point).  We liked high-waisted hot pants-slash-culottes with deep pleats and obi-tie belts, those leggings (obvi) and Ronson's penchant for hoodies.

This is stuff that girls are going to wear, and wear, and wear.
