Brian Atwood Takes on Madison Avenue

Brian Atwood gained a celebrity cult following shortly after starting his eponymous shoe label in 2001. His designs have tread red carpets from Toronto to Tokyo ever since.

So it’s no wonder that when the footwear phenom decided to open up a flagship store in New York—and, where else but Madison Avenue?— <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:Calibri; panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:auto; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:3 0 0 0 1 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-unhide:no; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; margin-top:0in; margin-right:0in; margin-bottom:10.0pt; margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman";} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; mso-default-props:yes; font-size:10.0pt; mso-ansi-font-size:10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt; font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri;} @page WordSection1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.WordSection1 {page:WordSection1;} A-listers came out in droves donning his sky-high heels to toast his success. Everyone from Kim Kardashian and Rachel Roy to Heidi Klum, Estelle and the Hilton sisters made an appearance.

Atwood also displayed his racy new ad campaign on a 4x4 TV installation for partygoers to view at will. The short film is part of a series titled “The Sex Is in the Heel.” And, to sum it up, it’s sex, sex and more sex.

"I've always been about the glamour and sexy part of dressing a woman," Atwood said. "Bringing this vision to life, through the hands of the most evocative and daring creative talent, helps me take the brand into its next chapter. The team so perfectly captured the essence of seduction, mystery, drama, and the lust of glamour."

Not ironically the bash exuded exactly that: sexy sophisticated opulence in the best way.
