Bottega Veneta's $7,100 Taxi Bag

Much was made during fashion week of a little clutch that lit up and said "taxi," and leave it to luxury bag maker Bottega Veneta to completely trump said clutch with a ridiculously priced woven tote inspired by one of the city's icons -- a taxi cab.

The $7,100 bag was highlighted by "Go for Broke" section of The Moment blog, and is apparently one of only 50 special order bags that Tomas Maier is creating for Bottega Veneta. The design incorporates BV's signature woven leather and is also hand-dyed in yellow and black.

We'll admit, the tote captures the spirit of the ever-present speeding New York taxi with a certain imagination and flair, but we'd probably rather put that kind of money toward something logical like a first home. Or, say, six or seven luxury bags. (We can't help ourselves.)
