Director Chris Nolan, the man who made Batman matter again and helmed this summer's biggest film, "Inception," has confirmed what most folks had just taken as an article of faith: he's directing "Batman 3" or whatever it's gonna be called.
"It’s becoming inevitable, I’ll put it that way," Nolan told Empire. "I feel myself falling into it, I guess. And getting it all figured out and I’m pretty excited about what we’re doing so… If I haven’t announced it, I think that people probably all know at this point that I’m doing it."
Fully aware how squirrely people get when discussing these things, Empire pushed for a clearer answer, asking if they could "safely assume you're directing?"
"I think you can at this point, yes," was Nolan's answer. Nolan also mentioned that he's putting some polish on the script written by his brother Jonathan.
We're not sure this qualifies as "news" per se, but it is comforting, and we can't wait for the Joseph-Gordon-Levitt-as-The-Riddler rumors to ramp up again.
