"Bones" Has Legs, Celebrates 100th Episode

Hard to believe, but Fox's "Bones" has turned into a steady ratings machine that is celebrating its 100th episode (airing on April 8).

So does star David Boreanaz, who directed the 100th, believe the show has legs for another 100? "I take it episode to episode, show to show," he says. "But the future is very bright for this show. I see it as a show that's really found its legs."

"But I don't set myself up for too much discouragement if it were to end tomorrow."

It's a good thing, because the show has been a slow burn, building its audience with each season. "We take it one step at a time," says Boreanaz. "We're the little show that could, and the little show that has. And we're very fortunate to have succeeded on Thursday night."

As for the 100th, we can say the will-they-or-won't-they relationship between Boreanaz and co-star and onscreen partner Emily Deschanel will be put to the test. But to what end? As for long term prospects for the two onscreen, that might have to wait for another time no matter what the tensions are.

"For right now, I think I still maintain that they should be partners and let’s see what happens after this season, where they go," he says.

"They work very well together and it’s great to see them solve these crimes," says Boreanaz. "I think everybody wants to see them together in a different way, " he admits. "Whether that’s as a couple, in a relationship."
