Fleet Foxes Returns With Second Album And Tour

Yesterday we discussed how good things should come to those who wait in reference to the upcoming Bright Eyes's release. Today we hope for more of the same in the form of news from Seattle’s premier folk rock sextet Fleet Foxes.

Sub Pop has announced that the northwest bearded heroes will release their sophomore album, Helplessness Blues, on May 3 in the United States with the UK release to come a day earlier on Bella Union

The 12-song follow-up to their critically acclaimed self-titled record was recorded over the course of a year at a number of studios with the assistance of Phil Ek who recorded, mixed and co-produced the album.

Fleet Foxes plan to hit the road in support of Helplessness Blues in late April. The 15 show tour will kick off in Vancouver and weave its way to New York with a stop in the Bronx at opulent United Palace Theatre on May 18. This will mark the band's first show in the city since their August 2009 appearance at the now defunct All Points West Festival in Liberty State Park, N.J.

Presale tickets are currently available online at the band's website while supplies last and a public sale will follow on February 4 at noon.

So when the weather starts to break and you feel spring in the air, don’t hastily store away your ski caps and flannels; Fleet Foxes will be hosting a going-away party for them in May!
