On-Sale Alert: Neil Young @ Avery Fisher Hall

Everyone’s favorite mopey Canadian troubadour just announced an 11-city U.S. solo theater tour kicking off on tax day that will bring him to New York for two nights at the end of April: Neil Young will play Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center on April 24 and 25 at 8PM. Doing “special guest” duties for the show is Glaswegian folk musician/Pentangle founder Bert Jansch (who, come to think about it, is pretty much the Scottish Neil Young).

On the set list: Songs from Young’s album released last September, the Daniel Lanois-produced Le Noise (whose track “Angry World”  won him a Grammy this year for Best Rock Song), as well as classics from his five-decade career, the whole shebang alternating between electric and acoustic settings. The relatively intimate vibe at Avery Fisher Hall should work especially well with the latter.

On-sale details: Tickets for Neil Young at Avery Fisher Hall go on sale to the public on Saturday, March 26th at 10AM through www.livenation.com, www.lincolncenter.org and CenterCharge 212-721-6500. A pre-sale to Amex cardmembers runs March 23 at 5PM through March 25 at 10PM.
