Odd Future, hip-hop’s newest and strangest sensation, is cashing in on its notoriety with a string of tour dates, including one gig in New York.
The California rap group (full name: Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All) will perform at the Coachella Festival this weekend, then reassemble in May for an East Coast/Midwest tour, including a May 13 show at Highline Ballroom. (Tickets for Highline are already sold out.)
The American tour is followed by a short European jaunt and stop in Sydney, Australia, for the Vivid Festival.
Odd Future’s burgeoning reputation for off-the-wall live antics is well founded: they were a smash at the recent SXSW and gave a bravura madcap turn on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The group's shows are eccentric, sweaty, profane, and dangerous: in short, Odd Future is pretty fascinating.
