In what can only be labeled the best news of today, Austin, Texas quartet Explosions In The Sky has made its forthcoming Take Care, Take Care, Take Care (Temporary Residence) available as a stream on the band’s website a week prior to its scheduled April 26 release date.
The entire album is available now, so if your Tuesday night calendar was clear then consider yourself booked. I’m not suggesting you don’t watch the Knicks dismantle the Celtics in Game 2 of their first round showdown in the NBA playoffs. What I’m trying to say is that after Carmelo and the gang win a pivotal game, crack open a bottle of red wine and celebrate with an instrumental opus like no other.
Then, after the record has slipped into your consciousness courtesy of the good-natured lads who make up Explosions In The Sky, make sure you head down to your local record store next Tuesday and pickup a copy of Take Care, Take Care, Take Care because the vinyl packaging is absolutely stunning.
Also, be sure not to kick yourself too hard in the event you missed their epic show at Radio City Music Hall earlier this month. We can only hope they are planning a New York return as we speak.
