Must See NYC: Veronica Falls, German Measles, Darlings

There's a recent spike in great indie-pop lately, with the likes of New York's The Pains of Being Pure of Heart, Big Troubles (new record out Tuesday!) and others putting out catchy, well-crafted albums this year.

Joining the lengthening list is Big Trouble's Slumberland Records brethren, Veronica Falls.

Veronica Falls, a London quartet, started turning heads with their ashey, constructed sounds, getting lumped with all the lo-fi ilk, but possessing excellent skills in harmony and the ability to bounce between the dark and light ethos without getting stuck in either one.

You can stream their entire deput LP at Stereogum. And peep the video for "Bad Feeling" below:

Tuesday night, the band headlines the always-excellent Glasslands Gallery. German Measles, Darlings, and Tanks Amigo are opening up. Do we write about Glasslands too much? Maybe if they didn't book so many fantastic shows it would be easier to ignore the 289 Kent venue.
