Looking For a Good Time? Try Art Brut

Ah, the weekend is so close you can taste it. Sure, the calendar says it’s Thursday, but who really works on summer Fridays? With this in mind, you set out in search of an epic evening that will go down in the history books of fun. Well, look no further than the English band Art Brut.

Tonight is the final show of a short North American run celebrating the release of their fourth studio album Brilliant! Tragic! that hit shelves May 24 and was produced by Black Francis. This evening they will entertain good-times seekers at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets are modestly priced at $16 and can be bought in advance via Ticketmaster or at the box office.

What can you expect from Art Brut? The simple answer is a party. Frontman Eddie Argos and the rest of Art Brut are showmen (and woman). Argos will indulge the crowd with barely audible stories – some of us have trouble with accents – with the rest of the band behind him playing their guts out all while they sport smiles as tokens of their enjoyment.

Art Brut is a rock band that avoids pretentions by attacking them with raucous melodies and a grain of salt the size of a basketball. You should leave all your worries at home and head to this concert so your weekend gets a proper jump off. If you don't mind skipping your pregame, get there early for the stellar support bands Reptar and Miniboone.
