Liz Phair Adds Brooklyn Show

She may be rapping now, to the chagrin of some, but Liz Phair can still sell out rooms on both sides of the Hudson.

Tickets are no longer available for her Bowery Ballroom and Maxwell’s shows next week, but now the  “6’1” titaness  is offering another shot: she’ll be performing at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on January 26.

Phair hasn’t toured much lately, but she did pop by Matador Records’ huge 21st Anniversary party in Las Vegas earlier this year.

The singer/songwriter has had a tumultuous year; in July, her sixth album, Funstyle, was released for download on her website – a move that Phair later claimed was accidental and ruined her relationship with her label, ATO, and her management. Not least because it included the rapping.

Tickets for the Music Hall of Williamsburg gig go on sale Friday at noon. If they sell out quickly, too, never fear: the night’s Tweets of her incendiary stage comments will be a perfectly entertaining substitute.
