Keepaway to Unleash “Black Flute”

Experimental-pop Brooklyn trio Keepaway will release their debut album Blake Flute digitally on Jan. 10 via their new label Greedhead Music, the newish record label founded by Das Racist's Humanshu "Heems" Suri.

Keepaway attracted attention for their echo-filled, drum-trigger happy post-Animal Collective pop tunes like "100" and "5 Rings" last year, and for their new one they headed off to Los Angeles to work with Ariel Pink/Happy Mondays producer Sunny Levine.

When these guys first appeared, there was much chatter about whether they were too similar electro-weirdo contemporaries like Panda Bear and MGMT, or whether it was unfair to judge a band with only a few songs to their name.

Now that they have a full album ready, we all can soon make that judgment for our selves. Until then, you can stream their new tracks "Cake" and "Faces Now" here.
