Beck, Passion Pit, Santigold, Major Lazer, Modest Mouse to Play Governors Ball

The Governors Ball music festival will return this year after a successful outing last summer, with an expanded lineup and a new location at Randall's Island.

Last year's festival, with headliners Big Boi and Girl Talk, focused heavily on dance music, but this year's edition is split into one day for beats and one for guitars.

The Saturday, June 23 lineup is heavy on dance and hip-hop acts like headliner Passion Pit, Atmosphere, Santigold, Diplo's Major Lazer Project and Chromeo.

The Sunday, June 24 is less about the dance floor and more about feedback, as Beck, Modest Mouse and Explosions in the Sky will top the bill.

Modest Mouse will be having a particularly busy weekend, as they will also drop by Metallica's Orion Festival. If this edition is like last year's, there will be no overlapping sets, so  you can see everyone playing. Check out the full lineup and an announcement video below.

General admission tickets go on sale at the Governors Ball website this Friday, and run from $95 for a one-day pass to $300 for weekend VIP experience.
