Big Audio Dynamite Announce NY Show

Come April, New York will be an Anglophile’s paradise. Big Audio Dynamite, the British rock band formed in 1984 by ex-Clash guitarist Mick Jones, just announced that they will perform at Roseland Ballroom on Tuesday, April 19.

It is their only East Coast show and, at least at press time, marks the conclusion their much-anticipated 2011 reunion tour.

Big Audio Dynamite have not toured in more than a decade. Their 1997 record, Entering a New Ride, fared modestly. They remain best known for 1986’s No. 10, Upping St., which peaked at #11 on the UK album charts.

Jones has hinted at an original lineup reunion for some time, though he’s deferred it repeatedly due to his involvement with the Gorillaz. He has pushed publicly for Sony to reissue their albums in master/Legacy editions. Their Coachella Festival slot immediately preceding Roseland Ballroom marks the group’s biggest reunion show to date.

Roseland Ballroom tickets hit Live Nation presale tomorrow at 10am and general sale Saturday
