Beirut Announces New Album, Northside Show

Beirut, the Balkan folk-influenced project of precociously worldly Brooklynite Zach Condon, has announced the band’s third album, entitled The Rip Tide and due out on August 30. The announcement comes on the heels of a new single, “East Harlem,” which you can check out over at Pretty Much Amazing. The album will be released through Condon’s own Pompeii Records label.

Advance tickets for Beirut’s Northside Festival performance at McCarren Park on Friday, June 17 are sold out, but if you’re serious about catching the Francophile folkies live, you can pick up four-day festival passes here, or just get to McCarren Park well in advance of their 8:30 p.m. start time — day-of tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
