Barbra Streisand to Return Home With Brooklyn Concert

Superstar Barbra Streisand is coming home to Brooklyn.

The Oscar- and Grammy-winning diva, raised in Flatbush and a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School, has never performed publicly in Brooklyn, but that's about to change.

Brooklyn's new Barclays Center arena announced Wednesday that Streisand will give a concert there on Oct. 11.

“Brooklyn to me means the Loew’s Kings, Erasmus, the yeshiva I went to, the Dodgers, Prospect Park, great Chinese food," Streisand said in a statement. "I’m so glad I came from Brooklyn -- it’s down to earth. I guess you can come home again.”

Barclays Center, the future home of the Nets, is still under construction. CEO Brett Yormark says Streisand's concert will be a defining moment for the arena.

Tickets go on sale May 21 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster, the Barclays Center and Streisand's web site, or by calling 800-745-3000.
