“The Social Network” Star Dishes on Playing Twins

Actor Armie Hammer, who plays twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss in "The Social Network," told Niteside that having two roles in the highly anticipated film was better than one.

"It wasn't weird at all. It was fantastic. It was the best. I got to not only do one role in a David Fincher film, I got to play two roles!" said the blue-eyed hunk Friday evening at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall for the 48th annual New York Film Festival where the film was screened.

Hammer, who you may remember from appearances as bad boy Gabriel Edwards on "Gossip Girl," said playing both identical twin Harvard alums was great experience.

“It’s amazing to be a part of something this relevant,” he said. “I think the fact that this movie’s about a website is really, like, No. 5 or 6. The elements that go into [this] story -- betrayal, friendship, the need to be loved, the need to be accepted -- make every story dramatic.”

And he was all exclamation marks this weekend for a different reason.

"I just got married," he said, beaming.

Among the famous faces gracing the step-and-repeat Friday night were Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Joseph Mazzello, Rashida Jones, Brenda Song, Kevin Spacey, Faye Dunaway, Jane Krakowski and Gina Gershon.
