Bicycling Magazine has put out its 2011 Buyer's Guide for those in the market for new bicycles, beginners and advanced riders alike.
The commuter bikes listed are pricey -- they range from $550 to $3,850 -- but each of the featured items on bicycling.com's site section link back to business sites with plenty of information and wide-ranging reviews that seem to justify them. The style-conscious will be pleased with the selection, too.
Bicycling Magazine does a good job of highlighting the basics for the commuting bicycle-seeker: weight, portability, maintenance, standard features (chainguard, kickstand and holding racks, for example).
It also lists top bikes for other types of riders (entry-level road, travel, recreational road, etc).
