Sign of the Times? eLuxury Selling Vintage

Web boutique eLuxury has always catered to affluent shoppers. The LVMH-owned site is the only authorized etailer for Louis Vuitton products (aside from the brand's own website); they also stock clothing and accessories from heavy hitters like Dior, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana and Versace. But here's something odd: eLuxury has just begun to offer men's vintage. A lot of it, especially the polyester shirts, is just plain ugly (and expensive), but the move is interesting. Is eLuxury searching for ways to set themselves apart from other high-end sites like Net-A-Porter, or are they simply trying to capitalize in the growing interest in vintage? Either way, men can now combine shipping on a 50s smoking jacket and Rick Owens leather high-top sneakers.
