Okay, big news first. The rumors are true: The last Mayle sample sale ever (ever!) will be this weekend. We got our postcard reminders in the mail this week and we're already e-mailing our friends like mad to figure out who'll be in line making coffee and croissant runs with us while we wait. (You may recall, these things are sometimes a little bit "brutal". There'll be dresses, bags, and more—but who cares, really, we could say there'll be plastic bags with "Mayle" stamped on it and you guys would probably all still line up. Right? Right. Well, while you're priming yourself for the long wait outside Mayle, pop by TG 170 on the Lower East Side tonight. They'll be hosting a lovely little party in celebration of their new art installation by Samantha Shapiro. There'll be music, drinks ... oh, and 10 percent off all in-store wares to sweeten the deal. Last but certainly not least, these are your final days to get your hot little hands on some ridiculously luxurious lingerie for a fraction of the price, since La Perla's sample sale will be ending this Friday. It's true, we're all skeptical of sample sales in midtown, but the J. Crew sale last week was tops, so we're betting the frilly underthings on 58th Street will be worth the trek.
