You are now allowed to hyperventilate. The program of Fashion's Night Out events has been released, and the list of participating stores goes on and on. To help you decide your itinerary for the evening of September 10, we've done the dirty work and we'll present Top Ten lists every day this week. First we looked at the Top Ten Overall Events, but now on to the Top Ten Contests.
WIth hundreds of shops participating in Fashion's Night Out and only several hours to get around to all of them, to win your attention they've got to do more than offer a small discount on purchases. Sure, there will be champagne and hors d'oeuvres, but that'll get old after the fourth store pushes a flute in your face.
What everyone wants are prizes! And we're not talking "gifts with purchase," but real, honest-to-goodness, doorbuster gems. So, for everyone's benefits, we've slogged through the event listings to compile this list of the Top Ten Contests happening during FNO.
Top Ten Contests During Fashion's Night Out On Sept. 10:
10. A 1975 Belt Buckle at David Yurman
Amongst the BBQing and Western music at David Yurman's Madison Avenue store, you can enter to win one his vintage pieces, a one-of-a-kind 1975 belt buckle. 729 Madison Avenue.
9. Complete Make-Up Set At The Body Shop
All of the city's The Body Shop locations are participating in Fashion's Night Out, and thus you can pop in at any of them to put your name in the drawing to win a complete set of their autumn make-up collection as well as all 37 shades of their colorglide lip shades. There will be two winners.
8. DSW's Year's Worth of Shoes
No, this does not mean winning 365 pairs of shoes (we wish), but instead one pair each month of the year (12, duh). Head to their Union Square store between 6-11pm to enter to win, but there's this odd caveat that you "must be present to win." Surely they don't expect us to hang out there for 5 hours on such a night as this? 40 East 14th Street.
7. John Lennon-Edition Guitar at Fossil
Even Fossil is getting in on the fun; they'll be giving away journals and passing out "seventies-era treats" through the night, but aspiring musicians should enter to win the John Lennon limited-edition guitar and Fossil gift certificates. 1585 Broadway.
6. Burberry Classic Trench Coat
Need a snazzy gift for your mom? Enter to win a classic Burberry trench coat at their Midtown location—super convenient to many other luxury events—and stay to watch model Lily Donaldson perform. 9 East 57th Street.
5. Alexander McQueen's "The Faithful" Bag
You might run into Lauren Santo Domingo when you enter your name in this drawing one of the McQueen's newest handbags, currently going at a retail price of $2,295. This is a very definite reason to trek to the Meatpacking District during FNO. 417 West 14th Street.
4. Polo Lesson With Nacho Figueras from Ralph Lauren Men's
Want to learn how to play polo? Why not learn from Ralph Lauren's model and pro player Nacho Figueras? Win a private lesson with him, although we guess that since this prize is only being offered to entrants at RL's Bleecker Street Men's store, that it sadly can't be turned into a date. 381 Bleecker Street.
3. A Customized Piece From Matthew Williamson
Now we are talking serious prizes, what with this offer to have Matthew Williamson personally fit and customize a one-of-a-kind creation for you. That means no reselling on eBay! Yet another incentive to hit MePa during FNO. 415 West 14th Street.
2. Fashion Week Tickets and more at Lord & Taylor
Who would have guessed that it'd be Lord & Taylor ponying up some of the best prizes? Throughout the night, shoppers will be handed keys which might unlock one of these prizes: Fashion Week show tickets, VH1 Save The Music Concert Tickets, a wardrobe from BCBGeneration and more.
1. $5,000 shopping spree from Fashion's Night Out
You don't have to go anywhere to sign up for this prize, aside from your computer. The shopping spree sweepstakes is already up for registering on their website (click above) and the big news is that there will be 8 winners. There's a ton of participating retailers, so you won't be spending that 5K all at Bergdorf's...or will you?
