RackedWire: Topshop's Troubles, Shopbop Blogs

SOHO—Shoppers who've ventured down Broadway recently may have noticed a flier taped to the Topshop site at no. 478-482 for a public hearing to discuss installing mechanical equipment on the roof. Sadly, the meeting was not to approve a helipad for Sir Philip; it was for the much more mundane installation of a HVAC heating, air conditioning and ventilation system. The unit was approved by Community Board 2 last week; tomorrow the Landmarks commission will vote on the matter. All this red tape over a heating/AC unit should give you a clue as to why we won't be able to buy Topshop clothing until next March...at the very earliest. [RackedWire]

ONLINE—E-commerce giant Shopbop has launched a blog named Shop Talk. Some of the posts veer dangerously close to Lucky territory (on a girl carrying a large white purse, "something about the light color looked so chicly unstudied, so unexpected against her all-black ensemble), but mostly, it's just lists of things to buy. On Shopbop, of course. [Shop Talk]
