RackedWire: Indie Rock in the Village; A Good Cause in Midtown; Halloween Make-Up on the Bowery

THE VILLAGE—Ralph Lauren is not necessarily the first brand that comes to mind when one thinks about indie rock, but the Rugby store on University is all over this week's CMJ Music Marathon. Bands will be playing in the store every afternoon for the rest of the week, and there's a 7pm show Friday night. First up: Chester French, two Harvard kids who somehow wound up in the middle of a record contract bidding war between Kanye West and Pharrell. Chester French actually have another fashion connection: One of them is married to celebrity clotheshorse Peaches Geldof. If you go, tell us what she was wearing. [Racked Inbox]

MIDTOWN EAST—Last-minute good cause: Go to the BCBGMAXAZRIA at 461 Fifth Avenue between 40th & 41st tonight before 8:30pm to drink champagne and get 15% off all non-sale items. Proceeds benefit the YWCA's Women's Employment Program.

THE BOWERY—If you have $150 to $200 to spare and a face that needs painting, Patricia Field will hook you up. They're offering special Halloween make-up appointments at their store, where you can get one of a few specific looks (not yet determined, but "cheetah" and "mermaid" were mentioned as examples) or ask for one of your own devising. Appointments are going fast, so call now: 212-966-4066.For more stories from Racked, go to racked.com.
