Net-a-Porter's Outlet Site to Launch in April

Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet originally announced the coming arrival of the brand's outlet site back in April of 2008 as a way to compete with a burgeoning army of online sample sale sites like Gilt Groupe. At the time, it was supposed to go live by the end of the year. But as we've learned in patiently waiting for Topshop to open, sometimes you have to be patient for the good stuff.

But we hear the online discount portal is finally on the cusp of launching—private e-mails to Net-a-Porter's client base went out last night claiming the site will launch in April—despite previous reports that the site would, in fact, launch in February. You can get a peek at the site now and register to get up-to-the-minute updates on the impending launch.

The site's boasting over 200 luxury brands and worldwide delivery, we have to say the massive brand is going to be more than fair competition for the slew of other upstarts that have been doing the same thing over the past year. I mean, did you see Net-a-Porter's sale section in January? If half of those pieces show up on Outnet, I'll be there.
