Housing Works 5th Annual “Fashion for Action”

Charitable fashion spot Housing Works has long been one of our favorites. Not only do they support a phenomenal cause—"ending the twin crises of AIDS and homelessness"—but they do it armed with the best style material New York can find. (We can personally attest: We once tried to donate some goods and they turned up their noses at some of our more worn offerings, meaning basically you're getting the best of the best, even if it is donated.) Anyway, you may have missed out on the fancy-pants benefit last night, but you can still enjoy the organization's 5th annual "Fashion for Action" celebration all weekend at their location in Chelsea, where their great goods are going to be sold at sample sale prices (50-70 percent off!). The whole weekend's festivities are chaired by none other than Marc Jacobs, and apparently they hope to raise more than $500,000. Given that they're claiming to have over a million dollars worth of goods on sale, that might not be an outlandish claim ...
