Own It: The Met's 1st Book Sale, Summer Shoes for Guys

The Met Bookshop is clearing house, 12 perfect men's shoes for summer, and making pottery at FAO Schwarz

ARTYPANTS: Today through 5/10, the Metropolitan Museum of Art Bookshop is holding its first-ever warehouse book sale. Set your sights on more than 150 titles from exhibition catalogs coffee table books and museum collection classics. Expect discounts up to 90 percent off, and tables hawking merch as low as $5 and $10.

SHOE-IN: For some (most?) men, the summer shoe continuum between loafer and flip-flop is something of a mystery. Brilliantly, The Pipeline plucks a dozen shoes out of current offerings -- from leather espadrilles to ticking-stripe canvas slip-ons to white leather wing-tips that are also sneakers -- to prove there are plenty of alternatives to pulling on your threadbare All-Stars yet again (not that we don't love us some Converse).

FIRING SQUAD: Did you know you (and your toddler, but also just you), can create your own pottery at FAO Schwarz these days? Make (the pottery studio formerly known as Our Name is Mud) opened inside the toy giant, offering 400 different ceramic pieces (starting at $10) that you can design to your little heart's content. They'll fire your creation and you can pick it up a couple days later.
