Holiday To-Do List: Brooklyn Flea's Gifted Market

Pick up something unique at this month-long event packed with local talent

With this year's tightened purse strings, we'll be gifting more of less, so we like the idea of spending our wee budget at the Gifted Market hosted by Brownstoner's Brooklyn Flea and Time Out New York.

More than 40 local artisans, shopkeepers and Brooklyn Flea Vendors will be showcasing their wares at Fort Greene's Brooklyn Masonic Temple (across the street from the Flea) for the next four Sundays, starting tomorrow. You can expect a lively handmade mix of pretty paper goods, edible treats, cute, distinctive wearables (lots made with an eye to sustainability and other green concepts), and general good cheer from folks like McClure's Pickles, Jezebel Stationery, Castor + Pollux and Moontree Letterpress.

So come on by, power through your holiday shopping list, and feel good about supporting small businesses and D.I.Y.ers, who are definitely feeling the crunch in the economic downturn. Gifted Market, Sundays Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14 and 21, 11AM to 6PM.
