A new Greenpoint shop will be part old-school bodega, part new-jack locavore grocery.

Now that bottom-shelf liquor is all the rage and high-end restaurateurs are offering doggie bags for your leftover $65 Porterhouse entrée, we suppose the time is right to fetishize that deliciously trashy NYC icon, the corner bodega.

That's the idea behind the Brooklyn Standard Deli, an 1,800-square-foot space planned for the corner of Nassau Avenue and Jewel Street in Greenpoint, says the Brooklyn Paper. Cody Utzman (Brooklyn Label, Papacitos) is the man behind the store, which will be set up to exude an old-school bodega vibe (and carry many of its conveniences, like toothpaste and tampons), but will also be a go-to for the kids of items your average autentico bodega would never stock, like locally-sourced eggs and dairy products, Stumptown coffee roasted in Red Hook, house-baked bread, and other such locavore bait.

The Standard Deli is set to open April 1.
