Just Calm Down Spa, in the Flatiron District, is now offering a Yankees Blue manicure and pedicure to mark the return of baseball.
Inspired by star shortstop Derek Jeter and his favorite sugary snack, the service includes a chocolate chip soak and a chocolate chip cookie dough scrub. The manicure is $33 and the pedicure is $55.
The staff at NBCNewYork.com had no idea chocolate was so good for the skin.
"It actually does nothing for the skin," said the joint's manager, Melissa Godano. "But it's what we put in it that helps the skin. Essential oils, stuff like that."
Godano said the Jeter package is just one of many fun and creative offerings at Just Calm Down. Others on the Sweet Shoppe menu include The Grape Gatsby, A Pumpkin For Your Thoughts and The Laguna Be-Otch.
"A lot of women get them," Godano said. "It's just something fun."
After all the soaking and scrubbing, the nails are then painted a dark shade of blue. Yankee blue, to be exact.
