Closing Time Downtown

Two local boutiques shut their doors for good with some killer sales.

It's hard to celebrate when shops in the city close down, especially right now when we're keeping our fingers crossed for so many retailers in our neighborhoods. But the good news is: Any closing sale is a great place to find some amazing deals, especially closing sales with stores like these.

Lounge—a street-wise, trend-setter-type spot, seemed to be just settling into its perch on Broadway in Soho (or maybe we're just getting old), but now it looks like it's moving on. Fortunately for us, they won't be taking their incredible stock of merchandise from designers like Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sonia Rykiel, D&G, Anna Sui, and of course, truckloads of denim. Expect to see drastically slashed prices—from 50 to 90 percent off.

Across town, editor's darling and Meatpacking mainstay Dernier Cri will be making its last sale at the end of November, so now's a great time to stop in and get a glimpse of the amazing range of goods at this favorite of fashion insiders and the downtown set. Most of the clothing and accessories will be marked down by 50 percent, and we're talking about seriously worthy labels: Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, Preen, Preen, Tsumori Chisato, and Isabel Marant.
