There's a spicy little thread going on over at StreetEasy regarding the new Harlem luxury rental building from developer AvalonBay, called Avalon Morningside. It got started with this message from a renter in the building: "When they showed me the apartment on 10th floor, I asked whether there was any cheaper units on lower floors. They said everything was rented out and only 10th floor unit was available. So I got the 10th floor. Here I am already moved in and notice more than half of the building is empty. I am feeling very stupid to trust the leasing office. For people who is interested in Avalon Morningside, the building is great but don't trust the leasing office."
