High Line Getting Political

advertisement

Our sweet little High Line is being dragged through the political mud, with City Comptroller (and potential mayoral candidate) blasting a deal that would give Friends of the High Line exclusive rights to sell food and merch at the promenade. Thompson says the no-bid, 10-year contract "almost appears to be some sort of back-room deal," and he wants a competitive bidding process. Ear muffs please, High Line. We don't want your innocence corrupted by the unsavory games people play. Oh, and bring on the High Line Fries! [NYDN]
