Floorplan Porn: 56 Leonard Gets in the Game

Our nation's foremost architecture critic, Kanye West, has finally weighed in on Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron's new Tribeca tower at 56 Leonard Street. Mr. West's opinion: "GONE BE NIIIICE!!!" Also nice: the first batch of listings have hit the web via Corcoran Sunshine, and perhaps because 140 unique floorplans at once would turn our brains into Swiss cheese, only about two dozen Jenga blocks are represented. It's just a taste, but each of the building's "types" are represented: from the "townhouse" apartments below the eighth floor, to the two- to five-bedroom units that make up the bulk of the building, to the half-floor and full-floor penthouses on the top 10 floors. You can find an example of each in the gallery above, and that's the full-floor whopper above. Prices so far range from $3.575 million to $21.5 million, and StreetEasy calculates the average at a healthy $2,661 per square foot. Certainly in Kanye's price range, but the hype men may have to look elsewhere.
