Sure, the city is in such dire financial straits that the mayor had to rewrite the rule book in an attempt to stay in power and pilot the ship, but does that mean there's no room left for morale-boosting over-the-top floral arrangement in our public parks? Restless seems to think so: "The turning trees were stunning in Central Park last week, but that wasn't enough for the Park Service, which felt the need to add the garish arrangements here (similar to ones in sidewalk planters all over town), perched like mutant floral gargoyles on a bridge to the Ramble."
