CHUPI IN CRISIS: Palazzo's Penthouse ChupiChopped Again

It always hurts to have to run a Curbed PriceChopper graphic for the second time, and it's never pained us more than this. Braden Keil reports, and a glance at the Corcoran listing confirms, that the triplex penthouse at artist/filmmaker Julian Schnabel's Palazzo Chupi on West 11th Street has been slashed by $5.5 million to a new asking price of $24 million. This is the second sizable chop on the penthouse, following a $2.5 million cut over the summer back when the ask was $32 million. The shocking news from inside Chupi comes on the heels of the shocking news from outside Chupi, when a tipster sent us photos showing that the Palazzo appears to be losing some of its pink luster. We didn't want to disappoint Chupster fans by running the same old floorplan porn, so we included a few newish interior photos from inside the penthouse as well as the layout of the basement parking/storage area, because we love it when floorplans have cars. The Schnabe's got some hot wheels!
