Burg Rumormongering: Apple Buying Bedford Ave. Building?

The Salvation Army Building at the corner of N. 7 St. and Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg has long been the subject of speculation, with the most common rumor being that it would become a McDonalds. Today, Gothamist drops a bomb, which if it pans out to be true, would be the biggest news to hit the Burg since all those towers started going up on Kent Avenue: the Salvation Army store is being bought by Apple for the Brooklyn Apple store. Followers of this saga might recall that the Brooklyn rumors first start floating around this time last year. Early rumors were that the store could end up at the Edge, one of the big developments going up on Kent Avenue or that it would go to Downtown Brooklyn, for instance to 345 Adams. The location is across the street from the exit to the Bedford Ave. L Station. Stay tuned.
