Brooklyn Bridge Park Too Hot to Handle?

    The latest complaint about the new section of Brooklyn Bridge Park: The metal blob thingies in the playground get too hot!

    Park officials put up signs warning parents about the sizzling steel domes, and they're pinning the blame on slow-growing trees, which will supposedly provide enough shade to shut those crying kids up.

    The warm sun and high temps are doing a number on some park attractions. Sun-baked metal domes in some city parks are causing parents and children alike to get heated. (Published Thursday, Apr 8, 2010)

    "It's outrageous," parent James Wagman, told the Daily News. "My first reaction was, 'That's nutty. Why did they put that in a playground?'"
