A-Rod Lowers Price on Surprisingly Not-Ugly Park Ave. Pad

Yankee legend(?) Alex Rodriguez has become both the city's most famous (or reported on, at least) home seller as well as home hunter, and so we have become obsessed with all things A-Rod: the rumors of his interest at 15 Central Park West, the fate of his $14 million Trump Park Avenue condo, etc. Luckily, Braden Keil tackles all things frosted-tipped in his Gimme Shelter column today. A-Rod is now lowering the price on his apartment (to $12 million), he's willing to rent it out (for $50k/month) and he's not moving to 15 CPW (he wants to rent for a while). Oh, and rumors of A-Rod's pad being That's Rather Hideous are unfounded, Keil writes:

We were given a private tour of the condo at 502 Park Ave. yesterday and found that the posted online pictures hardly did it justice (the seemingly blood-red powder room in one photo, for example, is actually a toned-down burgundy). The surprisingly elegant eight-room digs, flush with mahogany, herringbone floors, marble bathrooms, an unusual great room/chef's kitchen combination and a dark-paneled library, looks more like the home of a buttoned-down business executive than an athlete.

Well, business executives usually don't have a big "13" painted on a hallway wall and a Lucite-encased home plate from Yankee Stadium, but we get the idea. Interestingly, A-Rod is offering to sell the furnishings, which could be an eBay bonanza for whomever buys the place.
