Are Dive Bars Allowed to Change?

EV Grieve informs us that one of our favorite dives, Lucy’s, is taking a vacation till September 10. While we’re on the subject, is anyone else bummed that the bar’s picture-perfect façade has been marred by an ATM? (Lucy told us she installed the thing for customers a couple months ago, since her bar is cash only). Yes, it’s a petty gripe, but as we’ve pointed out before, this is one of our favorite New York City storefronts, and it’s rare to see the slightest change at Lucy’s, much less a money monster jammed in the window. But if it makes it easier to enjoy the two-for-one happy hour, then what the hell.
