What are you doing September 9? How about soaking in Tennessee whiskey, gnawing at barbecue, and hobnobbing with the likes of mixologist David Wondrich (Death & Co., Clover Club) and Duff “Ace of Cakes” Goldman? And all at that hallowed gastronomic temple, the James Beard House?
We thought so. Here’s what you need to do: Come up with a recipe amazing enough to knock a coterie of world-class chefs and foodie authors on their pantaloons, reduce it to 140 characters (on low heat, stirring occasionally), and Twitter that sucker to the James Beard Foundation by August 14. (Include the hashtag #jbfrecipe, too.)
Fifteen top entries will be posted on the Beard House blog, from which five will be culled for a top-secret expert-panel tasting. If the judges deem your tweet Beard-worthy, you get two tickets to the big event -- and foodie fame galore. For full details, check out The Strong Buzz.
