The Shutter: Midtown's Django SOLD

Midtown East: Django, the 300 seat Mediterranean spot—named after the legendary Django Reinhardt—with the massive outdoor seating area on 46th and Lex, will close this Thursday. A call to the restaurant confirms that the owners, the Main Street Restaurant Group (also the world's largest franchisee of T.G.I. Friday's), have sold the space to an unnamed Chicago restaurant group, who plan on opening an entirely different concept in the large corner space. And we have another couple dozen layoffs for Midtown.
