Renovation Report: New Kellogg's to Debut Oct 6

Williamsburg: The renovation that will change the area around the Lorimer stop as we know it, the Kellogg's Diner transformation, is getting closer to completion. A special correspondent was let inside the updated one-time greasy spoon (and sight of a shooting) last night as the owner gave an interview to the Times.

The story—of how the owners decided to update the diner instead of giving into pressure from the developers building all around and above them— is quite an incredible one and deserves to be told in the mainstream press. As for the reno, the place looks cleaner, more inviting, has a bar next to the counter, will feature a menu from a new chef, and what we've all been waiting for...it will open its doors on October 6. Put it in the At-A-Glance now.
