Recession Bouley: Over the weekend the Wall Street…

Over the weekend the Wall Street Journal decided it was about time to ask David Bouley if he's completely insane to open half a dozen restaurants during the recession. The answer—yes..a little: "Many of Mr. Bouley's enterprises are elaborate. He has purchased eight Molteni stoves that cost him $60,000 to $100,000 each...The current renovation of Bouley includes stones cut from a quarry that built Versailles in France and hand-cut and stained parquet floors...Neighboring restaurateurs say it costs between $1 million and $2 million to open a bare-bones fine-dining Tribeca restaurant."
